The neighbourhood
Antwerp North has changed dramatically over the past fifteen years. Where the railway yard used to be, there is now Park Spoor Noord: 24 hectares of city park with running tracks, sports pitches, a skate park and, in summer, terraces and festivals.
The Dam district itself is mixed and lively, with bakeries, night shops, restaurants and a weekly market. The Eilandje with the MAS museum, the quays and the city centre nightlife are about fifteen minutes away by bike, mostly car-free through the park.
